Heavy Rotation

I have been listening to Spoon's Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga quite frequently lately. It is one of the few recent (ok, not that recent, summer '07) rock and roll albums with a high level of production. The attention to detail separates it from other less accomplished artists.

The intricacies of the layering of instruments from horns and strings to the texture of Brit Daniel's voice come together in a well organized mess of sounds creating a great studio album.

If you haven't already given Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga a listen, I highly recommend it.

  1. I particularly enjoyed The Ghost in You Lingers, although the piano bit could have done with a slight variance here and there no?
Another future fave would be Black Like Me..what were the lyrics? Hot tar on the pavement takes a toll on your sole (soul)? Or something of the like :)
I'm looking forward to future blog posts Teddy...I mean where else can I keep a finger on what's edgy and fresh in the city?
And so terrific chatting it up in Palm Springs last know I'm a huge Teddy K. fan :)

  2. Wow Deb! Thanks for the comments! I didn't know you were such a big Spoon fan! They are one of may all time favorite bands. They're going to be playing a show here in early March. I'm gonna get my ticket here shortly. I've seen them before and they put on a great show!

It was great to catch up with you this past weekend as well. I don't see enough of you and Tom. I also enjoyed spending time with Matt. Thanks again for letting my stay at your house.

  3. My heart goes out to those who loved Teddy....what a shame to have lost someone so intelligent and who brought so much art and creativity to the will be missed.

  4. Teddy was loved by many. He was a bright, smart, delightful young man. He will be so very missed. My heart is bleeding

  5. I didn't know Ted, but I'm still moved to read more about him and want to express my sadness at this wonderful person's life cut short.
